APPEARANCE

Height: 6'1".

Overall: Weiss is a tall, lithe, and fit individual. He stands at a height of 6 feet and 1 inch. His hair is white, long, and feathery soft, with a fullness to it that makes even women jealous. His complexion is fair though not without its blemishes. Various long-faded scars can be found on his back, chest, arms, and legs due to the brutal training he was put through in his youth. His eyes are a brilliant violet. Bright and full of life when in a good mood. But become almost as black as obsidian when sad or enraged. His clothes are rather simple with a traditional flair to them.

He wears a tight sleeveless top the color black. While his legs are covered in white hakama. A purple belt hangs around his waist to keep his pants in place. Over his top is well worn but dedicated poncho with various colors mixed into the otherwise boring grey and black fabric. Adding purples and blues to it for some flair. Lastly, his feet are clad in traditional wooden geta that are also old and worn out but faithfully resilient even after all his time traveling.

Extra: Various scars and burns both big and small all over his chest, arms, legs, and back. The biggest and most prominent scars are the jagged lines where his wings used to be. They have since been healed over and were further covered by stylized wing tattoos colored with black ink. In between the two wings lay a heart symbol to remind him that despite everything, he was loved once.

PERSONALITY

Personality: Weiss is a man who puts specific care into enjoying the beauty of life. He gazes at the world with kind eyes and a soft smile. He speaks in a calm and gentle tone and walks with an unassuming gait. He exudes a soft and somewhat mysterious charismatic aura. His optimism and compassion tend to cause people to gravitate to him. Some may even say he has a 'gift of the gab'.

However, he speaks honestly sometimes borderline bluntness that shocks those around him. However, he is a man of many faces. A person who has suffered greatly from injustice and has the scars to prove it.

Thus he tends to have a complete and utter hatred for cruelty and injustice wherever he sees it. He cannot turn away from the innocent in need. And does not dwell on if you're a pirate or marine. He will help you, even with his absolute hatred for the World Government.

Deep beneath his kind smile is an impotent rage and darkness. A twistedness to his soul that only emerges when pushed to a breaking point. The abject cruelty he was forced to endure had turned him into a monster in a sense. When pushed to the edge he plays fast and loose with his morals.

The otherwise open-hearted and warm young man is replaced by a cold and methodical creature. Gone is the loving and compassionate doctor. And in his place is a monster wearing human skin. People often take his politeness for passivity, but he is not a good person. He knows this. And struggles with that reality when he is left to his thoughts at night.

Thus he tends to keep himself busy with medical studies and work. And when it's really hard, a stiff drink to soothe his sorrows. He is a man who has suffered but lives and thrives despite that. He uses his medical knowledge to help those in need.

In combat, he drops the amicable facade a tad and becomes more serious. While retaining a bit of his playful nature. Unless pushed to a point that he realizes there is no time for jokes and japes. Regardless if he's serious or teasing he holds a keen and adaptable mindset that shows itself in both his work and play.

His bedside manner is said to be quite brusk but in no way inappropriate. He is as honest as he always is not one to mince words as he soothes one's aches and pains. It is to say, he has a rather poor bedside manner - but he is effective at what he does.

He is, in essence, a lost soul drifting across the seas. A lingering spirit dancing on the precipice of life and death. Searching for a purpose, a family, an adventure, or something even greater. Anything to fill the hole in the heart and battle away the demons in his soul. Savior and destroyer, he walks the thin line of good and evil. All for the sake of protecting what he believes in.

No matter what the cost.

Likes:

Freedom: He has never been one to love restriction and control. He believes that every living being has the right to exist wild and free beneath the clear blue skies. He holds freedom and self-agency above almost all things. Even if it may go against his desire to protect others.
Sweets: Weiss has quite the sweet tooth he hates to admit. Having been barred from it as a child as apart of "training" he had since been able to consume it when he gained his freedom. And finding himself absolutely over the moon for it. It's not uncommon for Weiss to be seen with some sort of confection in hand during his travels. He even gives candies to his patients if they've been relatively cooperative with him.

Dislikes:

Confinement: Whether it's the cage from his childhood, a cell in a prison, or simply oppression - the worse kind of confinement. Weiss hates it. And naturally rebels against it. Trauma aside he has always been a spirited person who believes that everyone has the right to make their own decisions in life. No matter what the King or Government has to say.
Injustice: Weiss hates injustice, and will fight for others' rights. Whether marine or pirate he cares not. However, his sense of justice is a bit skewed and can even be seen as hypocritical. Due to the fact he flies for Banner for one's own personal justice. However, will clash with those that do not align with his own.

Motivations:

Purpose: Whether adventure, family, or Namaka Weiss is always on the lookout for his purpose in life. He's a person who needs some sort of grounding and stability. A goal that he can obtain. And because of that he is constantly searching for what he needs in life and what is needed by others. Maybe one day he'll be content enough with whatever purpose he finds and finally feel wanted.

Fears:

Abandonment: His greatest fear is not to be needed. By those around him, by the world itself. He feels that with his skills as a doctor, he won't be so quickly thrown away. But that fear, born from childhood trauma still persists. He is terrified of being alone and to be forgotten forever. As that would be the most terrifying way to die.
Death: Not for himself. But for those, he finally puts his love and trust towards. He's afraid to get too close to others for fear that they will leave him just like his parents did when he was little. It ties into his fear of being alone. And is almost as terrifying as dying alone. Being the only one left alive in the aftermath...

HISTORY

History:

The offspring of a Goan father and Skypiean mother. The pair were their crew. Terrorizing various islands across the seas as a pair of pirates. Somewhere along the line after a heist went incredibly south. The pair decided to lay low and retire to Shimotsuki Town to live a life of sincerity. They would bear a child, whom they named Weiss due to his stark white hair. For a time everything was peaceful.

Until the Marines came knocking.

They knew they wouldn't be able to run away from their pasts forever. However, they were not expecting what Marines would come to take them in. The Eveland Family was an infamously righteous family whose lineage could track back generations to Marines in the past. However, the current Evelands were a brutal and narcissistic bunch. Obsessed with public image and status. They hid their true cruel nature behind a facsimile of honor and duty.

Thus, they crashed into the small abode without warning while Weiss was out playing. When he returned he was confronted by the Marines who falsely sympathized with the child's plight. Stating that pirates that they were investigating snuck in and killed his parents. And out of the kindness of their hearts, Ulysses Eveland would take him in.

It was not a dream, however, but a nightmare. The happiness Weiss thought he would feel with his new family quickly turned into fear and bitter hatred. He was subjected to various tortures under the guise of "training". Belittled and bullied by the whole family. He was nothing more than a punching bag and a slave to them. In their vast cruelty, they even removed his small white wings from him. Leaving nothing but wounds that would eventually be scarred and then tattooed over in his adulthood.

They believed they could break him down and make him a loyal Marine. He even joined their forces for a bit. However, he was long since disillusioned by the World Government and its false "justice". And would use the nearest opportunity to leave it all behind.

Due to the nature of his "training," he learned from an early age how to fix and mend his hurting body. Even stealing some medical textbooks from the study. He would gain an admiration and respect for the art of the Doctor. Wishing to become on himself. When he worked under his adopted father's fleet, he would often treat the wounds of his fellow lower-ranked Marines to get through the harsh and hellish tasks.

However, he held no love for his fellow man. Having long ago closed his heart from this way of life. And in the dead of night, when docking at a port to resupply, Weiss would disappear into the darkness of the night. Absconding to start his adventure and a purpose worth striving for...
